Slovak database of CAF Users

Since the launch of the CAF model in 2000, this quality management system for the public sector has continued to evolve. The latest revision, introduced in 2020, brought its fifth version. Over the past few years, the number of CAF users has steadily increased, and currently around 4,100 organisations use the CAF model across Europe. To monitor and further encourage these organisations, the CAF Users Database was established.

The European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) hosts the European Database of CAF Users, while the Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing (ÚNMS SR) manages the Slovak Database of CAF Users. The main purpose of this database is to gather basic information about Slovak CAF users in one place and to make it easy and efficient for anyone interested to access information about all organisations that have completed a CAF self-assessment.

Thanks to the database, any organisation considering the implementation of the CAF model can connect with another organisation operating in a similar field that has already gone through the CAF self-assessment process. Likewise, CAF users can use the database to identify new partners and engage in benchlearning or benchmarking as a mutually beneficial learning process.

The database allows users to search for information using various criteria, such as type of organisation, sector, number of employees, or the year when the self-assessment was conducted. It also provides information about organisations awarded the Effective CAF User (ECU) label, as well as the total number of CAF users in Slovakia.

How Was the Database Created?

The Slovak Database of CAF Users was developed by the Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing (ÚNMS SR) based on available information about self-assessments carried out by public sector organisations. These data were collected, for example, within the framework of national projects implemented by ÚNMS SR, the National Quality Award of the Slovak Republic, the CAF External Feedback Procedure, and other related activities. Information about public sector organisations that conducted their self-assessments before 2009 is available from the overview of organisations that implemented the CAF model between 2003 and 2010.
