On 27th January 2026, the Effective CAF User label was officially presented at the premises of the General Directorate of the Prison and Court Guard Service (GD PCGS).

The GD PCGS has long been committed to continuous improvement. Its journey with the CAF model began in 2020 with a pilot self-assessment, followed by the adoption of improvement projects. As the CAF model is based on cyclic and continuous development, management decided to initiate a further self-assessment and improvement cycle in the autumn of 2024.

The self-assessment was successfully concluded with the approval of the self-assessment report in February 2025. Subsequently, an improvement action plan was developed based on the identified areas for growth. Following a prioritisation process, eight themes were selected from various proposals and developed into specific projects with designated owners. The action plan is set for a long-term period; its implementation is ongoing and subject to regular monitoring and evaluation.

To verify the correct implementation of the CAF model and the application of excellence principles, the GD PCGS underwent an external feedback procedure provided by the Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing. Based on this successful evaluation, the GD PCGS was awarded the label of Effective CAF User. The label was presented by Anna Budiaková, Director of the Quality and Project Management Department at Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing, to Blažej Zaujec, the Chief Project Manager of the General directoreate of the Prison and Court Guard Service.
