The Office of the President of the Slovak Republic has had a long-term interest in streamlining their  activities and processes with the aim of continuous improvement. As a comprehensive quality management tool, they opted for the CAF model, which is designed specifically for public administration organisations.

For this purpose, they participated in the call of the Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing and received the support of the CAF Centre in the CAF model implementation. The support consisted of providing training, consultation and assessment activities according to a pre-set schedule.

The implementation of the CAF model started in March 2023. The executive sponsor of the whole project was the Office’s head of the President of the Slovak Republic. The self-assessment carried out by the employees appointed to the CAF team brought an up-to-date picture of the organisation in terms of model criteria. The conclusions from the self-assessment were used as a stepping stone for the improvement phase. Of the many ideas for improvement, 6 activities were selected as a priority for the organisation in the near future and an improvement action plan was drawn up. In the final evaluation of the External Feedback on the CAF model, the correctness of the CAF model implementation process and the degree of the exceptionality principles fulfilment were verified. The evaluation was carried out at the beginning of December 2024, and the Office of the President of the Slovak Republic was awarded the internationally recognized Effective CAF User label.

I would particularly like to highlight the area of social responsibility, in which it acts as a good example worth following.”
