Updated 12.11.2025
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic (Ministry) is one of four organisations of the agri-sector, which verified the functioning of their own processes and set activities aimed at continuous improvement.
The Ministry decided to improve their activities by introducing quality management and after consideration, the CAF model was selected as the preferred option. After participating in the call of the CAF Centre, it received the support of the CAF Centre of the Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing (ÚNMS SR) for the whole implementation cycle of the CAF model. It started in March 2023. The team consisting of the executive sponsor, CAF Self-Assessment Process Leader (the methodologist) and the members of the CAF team carried out a self-assessment, thereby obtaining a picture of the current situation in the organisation from the view of quality management. On the basis of the obtained results, the Ministry drew an action plan for improvement.
After carrying out several improvement activities, the Ministry asked the ÚNMS SR to carry out External feedback on the CAF model. The evaluation was carried out in early December 2024, during which the Ministry demonstrated the correct procedure and the efficiency of the steps taken during the implementation of the CAF model.

“For a modern and well-functioning organisation, the quality of provided services and continuous improvement must always be at the forefront. This is also understood by state administration authorities. I am very pleased that as many as four organisations, led by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, adopted this idea in the Ministry of Agriculture. I see this as a positive example for other departments that care about self-improvement.”
The Effective CAF User label was taken over by Richard Takáč, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic, from Pavol Pavlis, President of the ÚNMS SR.
Congratulations on receiving the award.
