Workshop for Assessors: Revised CER Process – 18th November 2025
Updated 14.01.2026
On 18th November 2025, the UNMS SR (Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing) in Bratislava hosted a CAF Excellence Recognition (CER) assessor workshop. The aim of the meeting was to provide Slovak assessors with key information and methodological guidelines resulting from the October training on the revised CER process held in Brussels, while also creating a platform for discussion on their practical application. The event enjoyed high attendance, enabling an open and stimulating exchange of experience.
Discussion on Changes to the CER Process
Participants were introduced to the main changes in the revised CER process, which is a redesigned version of the previous CAF External Feedback process. Assessors had already been alerted to some of these modifications during a working meeting in June 2025, where upcoming changes were discussed. Subsequently, they had the opportunity to review the Slovak translation of the CER manual. This manual is currently in the final graphic design stage and, once completed, will be published on the CAF Center website.
The discussion focused on methodological questions, the interpretation of CER award levels, and the sharing of practical experience. Assessors particularly appreciated the opportunity for a face-to-face meeting, mutual exchange of knowledge, and clarification of specific assessment aspects. The discussion was further enriched by the results of an anonymous Survio survey, which captured assessors’ experiences with the CAF model and the evaluation process.
Presentation of Certificates
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants were presented with certificates of completion for the CER assessor workshop. These serve as formal confirmation of their involvement in the transition to the new CER system.
We will follow up on these professional discussions in January 2026, continuing the dialogue on the implementation of the revised CER process and the needs of the assessment community.
