The Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing (UNMS SR) has successfully renewed the “Effective CAF-User” Label, which confirms the systematic implementation of the CAF model within the Office’s integrated management system. By obtaining the Label for the second time, UNMS SR has reaffirmed its long-term and consistent approach to quality management and its regular evaluation.

UNMS SR launched the CAF implementation in September 2020 as part of the national project Implementation and Support of Quality Management in Public Administration Organizations. The Office was first awarded the “Effective CAF-User” Label in 2022.

Building on the results achieved, UNMS SR entered a new CAF implementation cycle in 2024. This cycle drew on experience from the previous period and provided further impetus for the continued development of management quality. The process included a comprehensive self-assessment and the development of a new Improvement Action Plan, comprising measures in areas such as process digitalisation, employee satisfaction and the development of corporate social responsibility.

The External Feedback Procedure took place at UNMS SR in the form of an on-site visit on 29 October 2025. As UNMS SR acts as the national organiser of the CAF External Feedback Procedure, the assessment was – as in the previous cycle – ensured through a foreign partner, KDZ – Zentrum für Verwaltungsforschung (Austria). Based on the recommendation of the assessors, the Office was once again awarded the “Effective CAF-User” Label.

During the External Feedback Procedure, the assessors particularly appreciated the integration of the CAF model into the integrated management system and its practical application in the Office’s management. The strategic composition of the CAF team, active employee involvement, and structured data collection and use were also positively evaluated. At the same time, opportunities for further development were identified, particularly in evaluating the impact of improvement activities and strengthening communication on achieved improvements.

The “Effective CAF-User” Label is valid from October 2025, i.e. from the month of the on-site visit, for a period of three years. During this period, UNMS SR will continue the systematic application of CAF principles and the implementation of identified improvement measures.

The renewed award of the Label represents an important confirmation of UNMS SR’s ongoing efforts in the field of quality management and a commitment to continue implementing improvement measures and further developing the organisation.
